Public Transport
In accordance with the environmental theme of the exhibitions we would like to encourage visitors to use public transport to get to Simmonscourt. As most visitors know, Dublin tends to get congested throughout the day so public transport often proves to be the quickest way to get to the venue.
There are a number of park and ride facilites along the LUAS (see www.luas.ie/park-and-ride.php) and the DART lines for you to use.
Please find below information on how to get to the RDS:
Travelling by Bus
Simmonscourt within the RDS Showground is serviced by bus routes number 5, 7 and 45, which stop outside the Main Hall Entrance to the RDS on Merrion Road. From there please turn into Simmonscourt Road to get to the Simmonscourt halls. These bus services can be availed of on Nassau Street outside Trinity College.
Please see www.buseireann.ie and www.dublinbus.ie for more information.
Travelling by Local Train
Dublin DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) service also operates from the City Centre to Ballsbridge. Travel southbound to Lansdowne or Sandymount stations. Simmonscourt is only a 10 minute walk from either station.
Travelling by Rail
Heuston and Connolly train stations are closest to Simmonscourt and are approximately 6km and 4km away, respectively. For more information on times and routes see www.irishrail.ie.
From the Airport
We advise all visitors arriving in Dublin by plane to use the Aircoach, which is running from outside the airport and brings you straight to Simmonscourt. Ask the driver for Simmonscourt or the RDS in Ballsbridge to ensure you are on the right bus. The fare is €7 for a single trip and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the RDS. For more information please visit www.aircoach.ie.
Travelling by Car
If you are planning on travelling to the exhibition by car, parking will cost €5 for the whole day. |
